Thank You for a roof over my head,
Food to eat,
Air to breathe,
A mind to think.
Thank You for family,
Friends who care.
Jesus, thank You for being my best friend —
You saved me from hell.
Thank You for cleansing my insides,
Full of rot and decay,
A mess too big for me to clean,
A price too hefty I could never pay.
Thank You for providing perfect peace.
The Lord says, “Trust and keep your eyes fixed on Me.”
I pray for holy eyes.
I thank You for the trials,
The childhood with no pops,
The anxiety where I couldn’t breathe,
Scared out of my mind — I called the cops.
They would pull up to the crib,
Check my vitals, say, “I’m fine.”
This would happen time after time.
And I would blame myself
For letting it get that bad.
I would cry myself to sleep,
The burden on my heart was deeper than just being sad.
Lord, You’re the best Father I could ever have.
I thank You for the long nights of confusion.
Fighting thoughts of abusing myself,
But never could quite do it.
Playlist full of durk and herb,
Angry at life due to the music.
I thank You —
In all of this I realized I was saved,
All because of the Lord.
All because He gave me a soft heart,
A new childlike faith,
A new covenant, a new holy place.
Without the Lord coming to get me,
I don’t know if I would be alive today.
Eighteen years of my life I was rebellious —
Lord could have took His hand off my life.
So Lord, I thank You!
All things work together for the good of those that love the Lord Jesus Christ.
Conviction points to Jesus —
Condemnation points to yourself.
Conviction points to security in Christ —
Condemnation makes you fearful of hell.
Conviction encourages.
Condemnation discourages,
Conviction leads to freedom,
Condemnation leads to chains.
Condemnation been after my heart.
Thank You Lord for showing me
Your voice and the enemy are not the same.
Spirit discernment through the Holy Spirit.
Lord, I thank You for the desire to want to serve —
The desire to be a husband,
The desire to be a father,
The desire to minister to my family,
The desire to write,
The desire to fight in the faith,
The desire to give up my life.
Lord, I thank You for Christ Jesus,
Coming to give His life for mine.
Stepping out of His divine state,
In humility to live in a body like mine.
To experience hurt and temptation,
Trials and tribulations,
To never sin and overcome the world for my life.
To decide in His mind to get on a cross,
Knowing the physical toll,
Knowing the leaking of blood,
The exhaustion of the soul,
The discomfort of the thorns on His head,
The anguish of His soul.
Brought Him so much joy to take on sin.
Lord, I thank You for completing the mission.
You saved another lost soul,
Another kid away from home.
Thank You Jesus.
One response to “Thank you Jesus (A Poem)”
Only give if Christ placed it on your heart to do so. He is my provider! God bless you all!
